Averan Gale - Co-founder & DP

Averan Gale is an experienced videographer with expertise in web development, online video technology and green media strategies.

As the video director for Green Festival, he produced hundreds of full-length videos of main stage speakers, exclusive interviews with festival partners and speakers, B-roll and promotional videos. As the lead web developer for Earthsite, he specialized in developing and designing Joomla websites for green businesses and non-profits.

Averan is an expert in on-location shoots that require streamlined production, minimal crews and equipment, and quick turnarounds. Averan's extensive portfolio of business profile videos showcase his ability to capture a client's story quickly and accurately, while creating an engaging and artistic final product.

Averan specializes in new media production; combining his background in web development and design with his interest in leveraging the latest video technology. He is constantly researching and experimenting with different production techniques to make sure that Green Gorilla Media is truly as 'green' as can be in its production processes.

He continues to pursue independent projects that highlight community activism, environmentalism and philosophy. He was awarded the first place jury prize at the 2008 Fairfax Film Festival for his entry in the 48-hour documentary challenge. The 4-minute piece, filmed and edited in 48 hours, explored facets of Buddhism and Tai Chi.

Melissa Mansfield - Co-founder & Producer

melissa-kig Melissa is an experienced web and media producer with expertise in web content management, online video production and social media. She also has a deep commitment to environmental and social justice issues, with over 15 years of experience working with values-based clients.

As the host, writer and producer of Green Festival TV, Melissa interviewed leading thinkers and activists such as Bill McKibben, Amy Goodman, Ralph Nader, Majora Carter and Dennis Kucinich.

As the host of Equator HD's "Keep It Green", a weekly half-hour TV program that covered topics such as conservation, social justice and green technology, Melissa interviewed leading experts from groups such as Popular Science, Doctors Without Borders and the National Audubon Society.

She draws on years of experience as a web project manager - in which she led clients through every step of their website development process - to guide her media clients through concept development, scriptwriting, production and post-production phases.

Whether as a video producer, web content developer, or writer, Melissa focuses on effective, persuasive communication. She works with clients to convey their core values, mission, products or services to achieve their marketing goals.
